Abbie was thrilled about the rain today. Here's what she did when we got home from having lunch with Gigi.

Later she told me, "God sent the rain so we could play in the puddles." I think she's right.

Well, tonight is the night... Steelers play the Titans!!

I'm proudly wearing my Steelers shirt... Abbie is rocking her black and gold gear... And the game cuisine was all purchased this morning. We are ready to go!!

Since James is going to a sports bar for a "networking event," it will just be the Billingsley girls watching the greatness that is Steeler Nation Football.

Polly Likes To Party

I was so proud of Abbie when I walked in on her playing with her Polly Pockets and saw that she was very careful to "buckle them up before the car went anywhere." It was very important that they "follow the rules" and "be safe."

I honestly had that moment... I thought to myself, "Ahhhh, I really am an excellent Mom. My child understands the importance of being safe and ensuring others are making good decisions as well. I should write a book. I think I'll call it, I'm a Great Mom and You Can Be Too"

Then, imagine my disappointment when I walked around the passenger side of this party wagon. Anyone else see what's wrong with this picture?

Perhaps a closer view will help clear it up.

That passenger is clearly unaware of a little rule called the "Open Container Law." Honestly, who takes a margarita glass complete with lime wedge on the open road??

I guess I better change that book title after this.

Happy One Month Birthday!

Lila, I can't believe you are a month old!

Things you are fond of these days:

• You are starting to be into the whole pacifier thing, but not while you are trying to sleep. It just makes you mad.



• You like your sleep. Don't mess with a cute girl's beauty sleep. You are down to one nighttime feeding.



• You saved your first smile for your pediatrician!!! Your Dad and I have tried everything to get that sweet smile, but you had other plans.



• Every smile since has been for your big sister. You love it when she sings to you and always look for her when you hear her voice. She's kind of a big deal.



• You have gained 2 pounds in 4 weeks because you LOVE to eat!!!



• I guess you like a diaper change because we go through about 30 diapers a day.

You are so cute and seem to get more adorable every single day. We are just not able to decide who you look like...

Your most unfortunate looking mother at 2 weeks, or...

your adorable father when he was a newborn.

Dancin' Fools

Anyone who knows James well knows he loves to dance!

It doesn't matter where we are or what is going on, if he hears a funky beat...he's ready to get his dance on. A DJ at a wedding recently asked if he could hire James to go to his gigs and "get the party started" by being the first to take the dance floor.

Because I do not participate in dance moves of any variety at any time, James is thrilled that Abbie has always shared his love of dance. He has been teaching her moves for years, and she has always loved the tutorial.

And now, he has another daughter he's trying to teach his moves to. Apparently, you can't start too young. However, she seems to feel the same way about dance as her mother. Check out that face. Maybe it's just Akon she doesn't care for...who knows.

Lila's First Bath

Wow! Check out the size of this child's head! Amazing!

Yesterday, Lila got approval from her pediatrician to get a bath. Because her belly button took so long to appear, we were waiting for her doc to say we could safely bathe her. Sponge baths only remove so much stink... So, we gave her the big bath this morning.

We expected her to complain like her sister did/does, but she was completely comfortable and happy to be involved in this little activity. Taking long bubble baths may become her hobby like it has become for her mom.
